Independent Booksellers Week - 14th - 21st June 2010

“To sell a book, you have to love everything about them and to be passionate about them… When I’m in an independent bookshop I know I’m with soul mates”

                                                                                                                                  Michael Morpurgo

Here is a list of the events Simply Books is running as part of  Independent Booksellers’ Week . This is an annual, national campaign to celebrate and promote independent bookshops and the important part they play in their local communities. It’s also a way to thank our customers for their loyalty and support.

Storytime for Grown Ups!

Monday 14th June 7.30pm

This is an opportunity to share some of your favourite short stories, poems, chapters from books, newspaper articles…anything at all.

It’s a chance to sit down with a glass of wine and enjoy the simple pleasure of being read to. We have done these events before from time to time and they are very enjoyable.

If you don’t want to read aloud just come along to listen – you’ll be amazed how relaxing it is.

This is a free event but booking is essential.
