We are a rarity, a small market town full of small, independently owned businesses. Shopping in Pocklington is a totally different experience to shopping in the bigger towns or shopping centres. The businesses are mostly staffed by the owners, not a sullen teenager being forced to reluctantly 'earn his keep'.
